Pricing

OpusClip pricing: estimated 4-hour stream cost

OpusClip pricing as of 8 November 2026: Starter $15 with 150 credits, Pro $29 with 300, and what 1 credit per minute means for a 4-hour stream.

A single 4-hour stream uses 240 OpusClip credits, and that number should drive your OpusClip pricing decision more than the sticker price. At one credit for each imported minute, under OpusClip’s credit rules, the $15 Starter plan’s 150 credits per month cannot cover that stream, while one $29 Pro pack’s 300 can. The plan you pick may also decide whether a Twitch link is an option at all, as the import section below explains.

OpusClip plans and pricing

OpusClip’s pricing page shows four tiers in USD as of 8 November 2026, with a Monthly/Yearly toggle (“Save up to 50 % with annual billing”). The Free plan costs nothing, and the Pro plan is the only one OpusClip sells on both billing cycles, according to its Plans article.

Plan Monthly price Yearly price Credits Watermark-free export Local upload cap as listed Notes from the pricing page
Free $0 n/a 60 a month No 10GB Captions are animated templates with watermark; MP4 export limit of 3 days
Starter $15 Monthly only 150 a month Yes 10GB 9:16 reframing only; MP4 export limit of 30 days
Pro $29 $174 billed annually ($14.50 a month equivalent) 300 a month per pack; 3,600 over 12 months on yearly Yes 30GB plus public MP4 URL Adds 1:1 and 16:9 with object tracking, scheduler, API; no export limit; unused yearly credits roll over for 2 months
Business Custom Custom Custom Yes 30GB plus public MP4 URL Unlimited storage; adds CMS integration

The Starter and Pro buttons start a free trial, which OpusClip says converts to a Free Forever account after 7 days. On file size, its local upload article gives 10GB and 10 hours, and its supported sources list reserves 30GB for Pro users, which matches the pricing table. Its length article gives 10 hours as the maximum for any video.

What each plan gets a streamer

The difference between plans for a streamer is less about clip quality than about what you can feed in and how long the output lasts. All of this is as listed by OpusClip on 8 November 2026.

Free Starter Pro
Link sources OpusClip names for the plan YouTube, local files Adds Google Drive, Vimeo, Zoom, Rumble, StreamYard Adds Twitch, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Dropbox, Loom, Riverside, Frame.io, Apple Podcast, Medal.tv and others

MP4 exports 3-day limit, up to 1080p 30-day limit, highest available resolution No limit, highest available resolution

Brand templates 1 1 Up to 4

Check Twitch before you buy Starter. OpusClip’s Plans article names Twitch among the sources added on Pro, not on Starter. The list says “such as”, and the full supported sources list does not split sources by plan, so confirm it on the import screen. Kick appears in that full list but is not named against any plan. If a link will not import, the fallback is downloading the VOD and uploading the file.

A 4-hour file can exceed the Starter cap. 10GB is about 80,000 megabits, and 4 hours is 14,400 seconds, so a recording above about 5.6 Mbps passes 10GB. That is arithmetic, not a measurement. OpusClip also says non-integer frame rates are not supported for local files and suggests uploading to YouTube first, which matters if you record at a fractional rate such as 59.94 fps.

What Free really costs. Sixty credits is one hour of source, so a 4-hour stream has to be cut to a 60-minute window before it fits. Add the caption watermark and the 3-day export limit, and Free works for trying one segment, not for clipping whole streams. The 7-day trial gives a better look at Pro, but trial exports carry a watermark and trial users cannot post, schedule or refund a project.

Starter or Pro. Pro’s monthly price is $14 more than Starter’s and doubles the credits. For a streamer the larger differences are the Twitch listing, the 30GB upload cap and exports that do not lapse. Starter suits someone who uploads short, already-trimmed segments.

How credits are charged

The meter runs on source length. OpusClip’s credit rules price processing per minute of imported video, lifting anything under a minute to 1 credit and dropping partial minutes on longer videos. Posting to X is the one publishing action the article prices: each clip sent to an X account uses 3 credits, and those come back if a scheduled post fails or is deleted. The article does not say whether posting elsewhere uses credits.

Credits also follow the “Processing timeframe” slider, so trimming a VOD to the part you want before processing lowers the charge.

Allowances in the same article are Starter at 150 credits a month, Pro at 300 a month per pack (“You can get more credits by buying multiple packs”), Max at 1,500 a month per pack (sold only through Agent Opus) and Enterprise by arrangement. Free’s 60 credits a month comes from the pricing page and the Plans article.

Credit rules from the same article:

  • Monthly billing: OpusClip gives credits a 60-day life, so an unused month survives one further month.
  • Yearly billing: the help article says the whole year of credits arrives at purchase and lasts 12 months. The pricing page’s yearly view instead describes “3600 credits over 12 months” with unused credits rolling over for 2 months. OpusClip’s pages do not reconcile the two, so check how credits arrive on your account before relying on either.
  • After cancellation: remaining credits keep their original expiry date, per the current article.
  • Teams: credits come from the owner’s plan and are shared.

What a 2, 4 and 6 hour stream costs in credits

A stream consumes its length in credits, so the examples below are exact for the stated rule. Inputs: source length in whole minutes, 1 credit per minute, no posting. Date: 8 November 2026. This is arithmetic from published rules, not measured use.

Stream Source minutes Credits
2 hours 120 120
4 hours 240 240
6 hours 360 360

Rounding matters at the edges. Under the help article’s rule, a recording of 3 hours 59 minutes 40 seconds uses 239 credits, since the partial minute rounds down. A reader who expects rounding up would plan for 240. The difference is one credit per stream.

A month of streaming

Three 4-hour streams a week over 52 weeks a year divided by 12 months is 13 streams, 52 hours or 3,120 credits a month. Add posting if you use it: 10 clips posted to one X account is 30 credits, which equals half an hour of source.

On the published allowances, 3,120 credits is 20.8 months of Starter’s 150, or 10.4 Pro packs at 300 each, so 11 packs. On monthly billing, Starter works out at $0.10 a credit ($15 / 150) and Pro at about $0.097 ($29 / 300). A source hour (60 credits) is therefore $6.00 or $5.80, and one 4-hour stream is about $23.20 of Pro credits (240 x $29 / 300).

Conditional estimate, not a checkout price: if each additional pack cost the listed $29, 11 packs would be 11 x $29 = $319 a month. We could not verify that per-pack price, because the pricing page’s 1 to 15 pack selector renders its prices by script and the help articles state none.

On yearly billing, Pro is $174 for 3,600 credits (inputs: $174 / 3,600), which is about $0.0483 a credit, or $2.90 per source hour. One 4-hour stream (240 credits) is about $11.60 of Pro yearly credits, roughly half the monthly-billing rate. Starter is monthly only. All of this is arithmetic from figures read on 8 November 2026, not a measured bill.

Reading expiry against a streaming schedule

Credits expire, so a quiet stretch can waste them. Monthly subscribers have a one-month buffer under the 60-day rule. On yearly billing, the help article describes a full year granted up front and valid for 12 months, which suits irregular streaming and is a cost if you leave. The pricing page describes credits over 12 months with unused ones rolling over for 2 months, so confirm which applies before counting on one large grant. Because gaming VODs run long, a single 6-hour stream can use 360 credits, more than a whole Pro pack.

Buying more credits and changing plan

OpusClip offers several routes to more credits, and they differ in how soon you pay. All of these are from its help pages as of 8 November 2026.

  • Refresh your plan. Paid users can repurchase their current plan with Add More Credits and receive the credits at once, so budget the plan price again.
  • Add packs (Pro). Each pack adds 300 credits a month and 2 seats, with seats capped at 4. Adding a pack starts a new billing cycle immediately, at the full new amount, and extends the expiry of unused credits.
  • Move to yearly. Pro’s yearly price equals six monthly payments ($174 / $29 = 6), and the 3,600 credits equal 12 monthly packs. Yearly only pays off if you would keep Pro for more than six months.
  • Upgrade from Starter to Pro. You pay the prorated difference, Pro starts at once and your current credits carry over.
  • Refund a project. Pro users can refund a project’s credits within 14 days of upload, if no clip has been downloaded. It is the closest thing to a safety net for a gameplay run that goes badly.

Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle. Pro Monthly can switch directly to Starter, but Pro Yearly has to be cancelled and then re-subscribed on Starter. Moving to Free is immediate and only allowed with under 30 minutes of credits left. If you cancel, OpusClip warns that projects stop being accessible after 3 days.

API access and its separate limits

The OpusClip API is available on Pro (Beta), Max and Business, and it has its own limits. Pro Beta and Max include 15 hours, or 900 credits, of API use per calendar month per workspace, after which the API returns an error until the next month while the web app keeps working. API projects have a 10-credit minimum, and videos are limited to 10 hours and 30GB. A streamer automating a whole schedule could reach that monthly cap quickly: 900 credits is under four 4-hour streams.

Who should check what first

  • Long-VOD streamers should compare hours against the allowance first: 150 credits is 150 minutes of source and one Pro pack is 300, so 4 to 6 hours per stream multiplies fast.
  • Multi-platform posters should check whether posting to platforms other than X uses credits, since the help article names only X.
  • Anyone comparing tools can read the cost per VOD hour comparison, the OpusClip review, alternatives and the OpusClip vs Submagic comparison.

Common OpusClip pricing questions

How does OpusClip pricing work? You pay for a plan that includes credits, and processing spends one credit per minute of source video.

Can I buy extra OpusClip credits? Yes, by refreshing your plan or adding Pro packs, as set out above. We could not read the price of extra packs.

Can I downgrade annual OpusClip Pro to Starter? Not directly. OpusClip’s help says to cancel Pro Yearly and then re-subscribe on Starter.

Can I get API access? On Pro (in beta), Max and Business. Pro Beta and Max are capped at 900 API credits a month.

What is unconfirmed

The price of additional Pro packs, and whether yearly credits arrive up front or over the year, could not be settled from OpusClip’s own pages. Whether Twitch and Kick links work on Starter needs checking on the import screen. Changes will be recorded in the price change log, and you can run your own hours in the VOD cost calculator.
