AI clipper cost per VOD hour
AI clipper cost per VOD hour: how OpusClip, Vizard, quso.ai, Klap and Submagic bill a 2, 4 or 6 hour stream, with dated arithmetic and open conflicts.
AI clipper cost per VOD hour depends on the billing unit more than on the plan price. OpusClip, Vizard and quso.ai each state that one credit equals one minute of video, so a 4-hour stream is 240 credits before any plan maths. Klap counts finished clips instead, and Submagic charges per upload and per Magic Clip.

Every figure below is arithmetic from published prices and rules, dated 8 November 2026. It is not measured use, and it says nothing about how many clips any tool produces from a stream.
The billing unit for each tool
Each tool meters something different, and the unit decides what a long VOD costs. As of 8 November 2026:
| Tool | Billing unit (vendor source) | Does source length matter? |
|---|---|---|
| OpusClip | 1 credit per minute of imported video (help article) | Yes, directly |
| Vizard | 1 credit = 1 minute of video processed, once per project (help article) | Yes, directly |
| quso.ai | 1 credit = 1 minute of imported video, rounded up (help article) | Yes, directly |
| Klap | Clips per month; the pricing page says source video length does not use up the plan | Only through a 3-hour source cap |
| Submagic | Credits: 3 per upload, 8 per Magic Clip (help article); standard plans also cap video length at 2, 5 or 30 minutes | Cap, not credits |
| Streamlabs Ultra | Flat subscription; Cross Clip Pro lists 1-hour videos | Cap only |
Inputs used for every example
The examples use four stream lengths and one monthly pattern so tools can be compared on the same footing.
- Stream lengths: 2 hours (120 source minutes), 4 hours (240) and 6 hours (360).
- Month: 3 streams a week of 4 hours, with 52 weeks divided by 12 months, which is 13 streams and 52 hours, or 3,120 source minutes.
- Source minutes are assumed to be whole minutes. Rounding rules differ and are covered per tool.
Source-minute tools: OpusClip, Vizard and quso.ai
For these three, credits needed equal source minutes, give or take rounding, so the credit count is the same across them.
| Scenario | Source minutes | Credits needed |
|---|---|---|
| 2-hour stream | 120 | 120 |
| 4-hour stream | 240 | 240 |
| 6-hour stream | 360 | 360 |
| Month (13 x 4 hours) | 3,120 | 3,120 |
What those credits cost depends on the plan allowance, and only quso.ai publishes enough to finish the sum.
quso.ai. The pricing page lists Lite at $29 a month for 100 credits, Essential at $39 for 300 and Growth at $49 for 600. Dividing price by credits gives $0.29, $0.13 and about $0.082 per credit. If every credit on a plan is used, that is $17.40, $7.80 and $4.90 per source hour.
| Scenario | Lite | Essential | Growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 hours (120 credits) | exceeds plan allowance | $15.60 | $9.80 |
| 4 hours (240 credits) | exceeds plan allowance | $31.20 | $19.60 |
| 6 hours (360 credits) | exceeds plan allowance | exceeds plan allowance | $29.40 |
Treat these as a rate, not a quote. A plan sells a fixed monthly block, and quso.ai’s help article says unused plan credits do not roll over. Cells marked “exceeds plan allowance” need more credits than the plan includes: Lite’s 100 credits cannot cover a 120-minute import at all, and Essential’s 300 cannot cover 360. For the 3,120-minute month, one Growth plan covers 600 credits, which is 10 of the 52 hours, leaving 2,520 credits. The help article says add-on credits can be bought in top-ups of 40 to 10,000 credits and that “The price per credit is shown at checkout and depends on your region”, so the monthly total cannot be finished from published numbers. It also mentions region-specific credit plans (for example 150, 400, 1,000 or 2,500 credits).
OpusClip. The pricing page lists Starter at $15 a month and Pro at $29, and the help article lists 150 credits a month on Starter and 300 per pack on Pro. The pricing page also lists Free at 60 credits a month and Pro billed yearly at $174 for 3,600 credits over 12 months (Starter is monthly only). On monthly billing that is $6.00 per source hour on Starter and $5.80 on Pro. On yearly billing, Pro is $174 / 3,600 = about $0.0483 a credit, or $2.90 per source hour, so a 4-hour stream is about $11.60 of credits. A 4-hour stream is 240 credits, inside one Pro pack but more than a month of Starter or Free. The 3,120-minute month is 10.4 Pro packs; the pricing page has a 1 to 15 pack selector whose prices we could not read, so we do not total it.
Vizard. Free is 60 credits a month, which is one hour of source. Creator and Business show “From 600” monthly credits, or 10 hours, and 15 yearly tiers from 7,200 to 74,400 credits a year. Vizard’s pricing page rendered Creator and Business prices as “$0” on 8 November 2026 and again on a second fetch the same day, so we treat plan prices as unknown. No per-hour price is given for Vizard.
Klap: clips, not minutes
Klap’s pricing page states prices in US dollars for 100, 300 or 1,000 clips a month and says each short clip counts as one clip. Stream length does not change the bill, but the 3-hour source cap on the pricing page matters for long VODs.
| Plan | Monthly | Clips a month | Per clip, monthly billing | Per clip, yearly billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $29 | 100 | $0.29 | $0.145 |
| Pro | $79 | 300 | about $0.263 | about $0.132 |
| Pro+ | $189 | 1,000 | $0.189 | about $0.095 |
Yearly prices are $174, $474 and $1,134, with 1,200, 3,600 and 12,000 clips granted up front. Across 13 streams a month, the monthly allowances work out to roughly 7.7, 23.1 and 76.9 clips per stream if spread evenly. That is an allowance, not a forecast of what any stream produces.
For length, the pricing page says sources up to 3 hours. A 2-hour stream fits, while 4-hour and 6-hour streams exceed it, so expect to split the recording first. The pricing page says “Source videos can run up to 3 hours.”
Submagic: two meters
Submagic has a per-video path and a Magic Clips path, and neither prices a long VOD directly. Submagic’s pricing page lists Starter at $19 a month ($12 billed yearly), Pro at $39 ($23) and Business at $69 ($41), with 45, 120 and 300 credits and a maximum video length of 2, 5 and 30 minutes. Prices are per member.
A 4-hour VOD is 240 minutes, well above the 30-minute standard cap, so on the standard path it would be cut into shorter pieces first. That is reasoning from the listed caps, not a statement from Submagic about VODs.
Magic Clips is an add-on, and the help article gives 8 credits per Magic Clip and 3 per upload. Its price is absent from the public pricing page. Credits per month for 13 streams, where n is how many Magic Clips you choose to create per stream (an input, not a yield):
| n per stream | Reading A: 3 + 8n per stream | Reading B: 8n only | Month, reading A | Month, reading B |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 19 | 16 | 247 | 208 |
| 5 | 43 | 40 | 559 | 520 |
The two readings exist because the help article does not say whether the 3-credit upload charge applies to a Magic Clips source. On either reading, 13 streams with 5 clips each exceeds Business’s 300 credits. With 2 clips each, only Business (300) covers the month. The Submagic pricing page has the per-credit prices.
Streamlabs Ultra and Cross Clip
Streamlabs is a flat subscription with length caps, so its cost per VOD hour is not a credit calculation. The Ultra page lists Cross Clip Pro at 1-hour videos (Free is 30 minutes), so 2, 4 and 6-hour streams all exceed the cap. The vendor page says “starting at $15.75/mo” and does not state the billing period. No Ultra cost per hour is computed, because 2, 4 and 6-hour streams exceed the cap anyway.
Where rules differ between tools
These differences affect the maths. Each is a different rule at a different vendor, not a contradiction.
- Rounding. OpusClip’s help article says partial minutes round down and clips under one minute round up to 1 credit. quso.ai’s says imports are rounded up. A 3:59:30 stream is 239 credits under the first rule and 240 under the second.
- Credit expiry. OpusClip monthly credits expire after 60 days and yearly credits last 12 months. Vizard’s upgrade and downgrade article says “Each release of credits will be valid for 2 months in the monthly plan and 13 months for the yearly plan.” quso.ai monthly credits do not roll over.
- Annual pricing. OpusClip has a Monthly/Yearly toggle and lists Pro at $174 billed annually. Vizard’s page shows one (“Yearly 50% OFF”) but with $0 prices. quso.ai’s annual totals equal twelve times monthly, so its annual view shows no discount.
- Length caps. Vizard’s pricing page lists 600 minutes of upload length on paid plans (60 on Free). Klap’s pricing page says sources can run up to 3 hours.
Same-vendor conflict. quso.ai’s help page says 4 hours for links such as Twitch, while its Twitch tool page says 5 hours. We have not resolved this.
What this does not tell you
This page prices input, not output. It cannot say how many clips a stream yields, how many are worth posting, or whether a cheaper tool costs more once you re-run or trim results. Because gameplay often has long stretches with no speech, expect to check how each tool handles it before trusting any per-hour figure; that is reasoning, not a measured result.
