VOD cost calculator for AI clippers
VOD cost calculator for AI clippers: stream hours and streams per week turned into credits or clips per tool, with billing rules dated 8 November 2026.
The VOD cost calculator for AI clippers turns two numbers, hours per stream and streams per week, into the credits, clips or length-cap checks each tool’s published billing rule implies. It is arithmetic from published prices dated 8 November 2026, not measured use, and it makes no claim about how many clips any tool produces.

What the calculator computes
For each tool it applies that tool’s billing unit to your stream hours.
- Source-minute tools (OpusClip, Vizard, quso.ai): credits needed per stream and per month, compared with what a plan includes where the allowance is published.
- Clip-count tool (Klap): how many clips a month each plan allows per stream when spread evenly, plus a source-length check.
- Credit-and-cap tool (Submagic): credits for a number of Magic Clips you choose per stream, under both readings of the upload charge, and a check against the 2, 5 and 30 minute caps.
- Flat tools with caps (Streamlabs Ultra): a length-cap check only, because a stream longer than the cap listed on the Ultra page would need splitting first.
- Flat subscription (StreamLadder): plan prices with no per-minute maths, because its published plans are flat. Its AI clipper, ClipGPT, starts on the Creator plan.
- Listed without maths (Eklipse): prices only, because its billing unit is not published on the pages we read.
Where a plan allowance or price is not confirmed, the result says so instead of showing a number. Vizard’s Creator and Business prices displayed as “$0” on 8 November 2026 and are treated as unknown.
How to read the result
A credits figure is demand, and a plan figure is supply. Read the difference first. If a month needs 3,120 credits and a plan includes 600, the shortfall is 2,520 credits, and the answer to “what does it cost” is that one plan does not cover it. Top-up and extra-plan rules differ by tool, so the calculator does not invent a total.
A dollar-per-credit figure is the plan price divided by its credits, which is the effective rate only if every credit is used. Unused credits expire or do not roll over on several tools, so a low rate on a plan you cannot fill is not a saving.
Length checks are flags. If a 6-hour stream exceeds a tool’s source cap, the stream would need splitting first.
Worked example
Inputs: a 4-hour stream, 3 streams a week, 52 weeks a year divided by 12 months, which is 13 streams and 52 hours (3,120 source minutes) a month. Date: 8 November 2026.
| Tool | Per 4-hour stream | Per month (13 streams) | Plan comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| OpusClip | 240 credits | 3,120 credits | Free 60, Starter 150 and Pro 300 per pack, so about 10.4 Pro packs; Pro yearly is $174 for 3,600 credits ($2.90 per source hour) |
| quso.ai | 240 credits | 3,120 credits | Growth includes 600; shortfall 2,520 |
| Vizard | 240 credits | 3,120 credits | Paid plans start at 600 monthly credits; prices unknown |
| Klap | 4 hours exceeds the 3-hour cap on the pricing page | Clips, not hours, are counted | Basic 100 clips is about 7.7 per stream |
| Submagic, 2 Magic Clips per stream | 19 or 16 credits | 247 or 208 credits | Business includes 300; add-on price unknown |
Longer sample cases are in cost per VOD hour.
Limits
- It prices input, not output. It cannot say how many usable clips a stream gives.
- Prices change. The data carries a checked date per tool, and changes are logged in the price change log.
- Some source-length limits depend on how a video arrives. quso.ai’s help page gives 4 hours for links from Twitch and several other sites, while its Twitch page says up to 5 hours, against a credit-based limit for YouTube and Zoom. The result shows the limit for your input type, and both figures for a Twitch link.
- Taxes, per-seat charges, regional prices and promotions are not included.
- It does not include thumbnails. Pikzels pricing bills per generation, not per VOD hour.
To choose a tool by features, use the clipper picker or AI clippers for long VODs. Plan-level notes are in OpusClip pricing, Submagic pricing and StreamLadder pricing. Method is in how we work.
